![]() Thursday, May 26, 2011 The US Small Business Administration wants to provide business owners with a quick, streamlined way to access resources to help them start up or grow. The app, developed and donated as gift from Palo alto Software, is a free app that will allows users to connect with SBA-affiliated advisers and mentors that can provide free small business advice and assistance. The app aims to help answer questions like "How do I start a business" and "Where can I go in my area to get free help with writing a business plan," according to the SBA. What are the most important things to consider when looking to start or expand a small business? Let us know in the comments. Not only does the app provide way to connect with SBA counselors, but it also includes a startup cost calculator. If you're looking to get a business off the ground, you probably need to estimate your initials costs first. Within the app, you are also linked with the SBA's social media efforts on Twitter and their own YouTube channel. “Increasingly, smart phones are the vehicle through which Americans access information. This is certainly true of many entrepreneurs and small business owners and this new application ensures they will have access to SBA’s resources and programs – literally at their fingertips,” said SBA Administrator Karen G. Mills. “Greater mobility fits with the new user-focused SBA.gov launched recently, and is another example of the steps we are taking to do a better job of connecting entrepreneurs and small business owners with the tools to help them start or grow their businesses and create jobs.” The app is currently only available on iOS, but the SBA says that it will be expanding to more platforms in the future. It is available on the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad and requires iOS 3.0 or later.
